A Review of – Critical Role: The Mighty Nein—The Nine Eyes of Lucien by Madeleine Roux (Author), Critical Role (Author), Robbie Daymond (Narrator), Matthew Mercer (Narrator)
I recently finished reading “Critical Role: The Mighty Nein—The Nine Eyes of Lucien,” and I must say, it was an absolute rollercoaster of awesome. The book takes readers on a wild journey of action, suspense, and surprises at every turn. This book is a must-read for any fan of Critical Role or Dungeons & Dragons.
Hey, what’s up, I’m Ashley Poplin. My husband, Alex, and I decided we were tired of living in the societal matrix. We quit our jobs and moved to our dream location in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. Now, we pursue knowledge and excellence in everything we do. The Story:
The story follows Lucien and his crew as they embark on that deadly mission long ago that began the journey of the Cognoza. Along the way, they encounter various intriguing characters and face countless challenges that test their skills, friendship, and courage. All of which gives excellent backstory to Lucien and the Mighty Nein campaign.
Each of Lucien’s party members has a unique personality and backstory that you didn’t get to see fully come alive in the show. It’s fascinating to see how they interacted with each other and the mighty nein. Roux did an excellent job balancing the action with the emotional moments, making for a truly engaging listen.
The Quality:
Listen, I love a good audiobook, but I have never experienced such talent as I did with this one. We know and love all the voices from Critical Role, but Robby Daymond and the cast did a fantastic job with the production quality.
Even if you’re not a huge fan of audiobooks, this one is worth the listen.
For the Pursuit:
Now if you’ve been with us for a while, you might be asking… “What does this have to do with pursuing knowledge and excellence?”
To be honest, it’s a fair question, and the truth is we have to find knowledge in places that resonate with us personally. Titles like these help us see humanity in a different light, it takes away some of that stoicism you can get in the pursuit of absolute truth.
Empathetic marketing has made such an impact for a reason, right? If you’re not using fantasy as an escape but as something that brings you joy, you can learn many things about life from it.
Now, we don’t want to give into the fantasy completely, but we believe there is nothing wrong in pursuing knowledge through a great work like this… it was excellent.
Overall, I highly recommend “Critical Role: The Mighty Nein—The Nine Eyes of Lucien” to anyone who loves fantasy, adventure, and well-written characters. It’s a thrilling ride from start to finish, and I can’t wait to see what the Mighty Nein gets up to next.
